Brewpub Visit: Two Henrys Brewing

Brewery/Brewpub: Two Henrys Brewing
When: 2014-01-22
Where: 5210 Thonotosassa Rd, Plant City, Florida
Favorite Ale: Rough Around The Edges Pale Ale
Notes:

Most breweries I visit I find a like a few of the ales and I find plenty I don’t care for, usually because they just have little taste.  Two Henrys was different.  I liked everything and can recommend everything I tried.  Here are some brief notes:

  • Rough Around The Edges Pale Ale, 5.5% - Very drinkable, very good.
  • The Standard Chocolate Stout, 5.5%, Moderate roastyness and moderate bitterness, good.
  • Snowbird Winter Amber (a seasonal), Spiced, malty, very good.
  • Plant City Strong Pale Ale, 5.7%, Quite good, interesting hops - not your usual citrusy Cascade/Centennial.
  • Runaway Locomotive Black IPA, 6.0%, Pleasantly roasty with moderate hop bitterness, good.
  • Fletcher’s Drool Florida Wheat, Very good.

You can’t tell from the web page but there is a food truck outside that appears to have lots of BBQ choices.  The food can be brought inside.  The pub and the associated winery tasting room share a single space and you can get tastes of the wine on the Two Henrys side.  This is handy when a couple has divergent tastes.

I would also like to point out that they have a really cool pint glass available for purchase.  The price is really a steal if you get it as part of the purchase of your ale.  They also have a full color emblem on their taster glass.  Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, it is applied as a sticky label.  Lets hope they get this as a properly designed glass in the future.  It is really a great graphic.  See the images below.
