Wyoming - August 10-17

Next up was Wyoming and Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.   Yellowstone is a beautiful park, but visiting at the height of vacation season was probably not our best idea.  It was really crowded!   Grand Teton was also beautiful and, while busy, had significantly less people than Yellowstone.  We enjoyed both parks very much.

Bison encounter at Mud Volcano
This is the same bison seen on the ridge above.
We backed off behind a fence when he started heading down toward us,
but he still got closer than I would have preferred.

Bison at Mud Volcano
They get much closer to the thermal features than I would want to be.

Bison Jam!
I am glad we were in a large vehicle.
As you can see, they are as big as a small car.
I took this out of the side window of the truck while we were stuck in
the bison jam.  They really were that close to us!

View from Schwabacher Trail.
This was my favorite view in Grand Teton NP.
It looks a lot like a poster I had in my office for many years at Fannie Mae.
